"My son, grandson and I stayed at La Quinta for 4 days, 3 nights. Unknown to us, the property was being renovated and much of the work was being performed on a scaffold outside our window. There was drilling, hammering and loud talk right outside our window. We could not open our drapes and when we came back to our room to rest, it was impossible because of the noise. We asked if there was another 2 queen bed room and the young man said there was, but they wanted to keep it for new customers, but he could check with his supervisor who said we could switch rooms. When I came down to re-register for the new room, the young man said that because we reserved the room through Expedia, we would have to pay more to get the new room. We couldn't pay more, so we didn't get the room. The next day, my son had a phone interview for a prospective job, but he had to leave the room because of the noise and do the interview in his car. We certainly did not feel like we were valued guests and in fact, were left to feel that they didn't care about us at all and really only valued our money. This was a big disappointment as my son and I had stayed there in the past. I wasn't sure the bathroom had been cleaned and there was mold on the ceiling. We had to ask for new towels as there were no hooks or towel bars in the bathroom to dry our towels and re-use them. They never tried to clean our room - we finally caught someone and then they cleaned our room. Even pool area was neglected."
