My wife and I stayed one night at this hotel because we have stayed here before and generally found it clean, comfortable, and centrally located.
Check in was fine, though there is no self parking and valet is required. Not a big issue, but worth noting. At check in, we were offered complimentary drinks, wine or beer. My wife chose wine poured into a hotel glass, and I chose a beer.
We went upstairs briefly to drop off luggage and then decided to try the hotel restaurant. I was stopped at the entrance and told I could not bring my complimentary beer into the restaurant, while my wife was allowed to bring her complimentary wine. This created an awkward situation in the middle of a packed restaurant and made us feel uncomfortable.
Dinner was disappointing. We ordered a porterhouse steak with no sides. The steak alone was around $80 and was tough and underwhelming. With two mixed drinks, the total came close to $200 for a meal that was not worth it for us.
After dinner, we went back to the room hoping for a good night’s sleep, but both of us slept poorly. The bed was extremely firm and we both woke up sore and uncomfortable.
Overall, the hotel is clean and in a good location, but the restaurant experience and uncomfortable bed took away from what was supposed to be a special night.
