"This is our second time staying at the Gem Suites in Evanston. Everything is very clean. The staff is proficient and the breakfast is enjoyable. We also appreciate the free parking. We enjoyed ourselves and we come again last time. We had a larger suite which we liked better at our last stay. I would recommend this to any traveler who is staying for a couple of days and would enjoy an entire suite filled with a kitchenette."

"It saddens me to leave a mediocre review for such a beautiful and expensive hotel. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t great. The bed was much too firm. So much so that I woke up several times with my arms asleep. Also there were a few very loud guests talking as they passed my room. I expected this at a lower end hotel."

"For the amount of $400 a night you expect at least the room to be clean. The room was dirty with mold and very bad conditions. The staff was very help they even refund partial of my stay but the hotel needs real maintenance."

"Price increase 100 dollars a night without notification. Heard other hotel stayers complain but didn't give much thought to it until I received my bill. Saturday night went to the "restaurant" at 8:15 for some food, was told that the kitchen was closed even though they still had a sign outside saying that the restaurant was open 7 days a week to everybody until 10pm. 16 dollars for a very run of the mill breakfast buffet. 84 dollars to park Friday night until Sunday morning."
