"The room was clean. The door was a bit broken and one or two fittings needed to be replaced (very minor issues). The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the breakfast was excellent. My only observation on that was that not all the hot items were on the buffet at the same time. Not the biggest problem but I like to get my food and sit down without having to keep getting up to see if the fried eggs and black pudding had appeared. Having said that, this will definitely be our first choice of hotel when we come back to Newcastle. One other suggestion- it would be helpful to have a footpath from the entrance gate to the hotel door."

"Excellent location. Rooms very clean. An issue with the toilet cistern constantly filling was dealt efficiently and we had a new room straightaway. Very pleased with the service. "

"Enjoyed our stay at the castle. Staff were friendly and efficient giving great service. The courtyard rooms are small but well furnished and comfortable, also I thought great value. However we decided to upgrade to a larger state room and the staff were really helpful in enabling us to do that. You can really immerse yourself in the castle experience.The room was surprisingly warm as obviously no double glazing. Breakfast was excellent. If you are looking for a true castle experience you won't be disappointed. "
