「Had a lovely stay staff were fab and breakfast was lovely」

「The Oak Inn at Staplow is a really nice place to stay. Very friendly, Food is lovely, Our room was clean lovely comfy bed. Tea, Coffee and Biscuits. Breakfast you choose what you wanted and it was all cooked fresh for you. Great Place glad we found it.」

「The staff were extremely helpful when we suffered a bad experience with our food on our first night's stay. Stick to the basic meals on the menu, like the burgers and fish and chips! We booked a bed, breakfast and evening meal deal for 2 nights, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but, on reflection, should have booked everything separately, because we would be over £100 better off!! Apart from being placed at the worst, and least private, table in the restaurant, we only had a limited menu...

「Disappointing stay raised with the manager but no meaningful resolution. The staff were friendly and the room had some positives, including clean linen, a good-sized TV and convenient parking, but unfortunately the overall experience was very poor. The hotel felt in need of a thorough clean and better maintenance. There was thick dust on ledges and surfaces, smeared glass, sticky breakfast tables, dusty artificial plants and noticeable limescale in the bathroom. The extractor fan did not work,...

「One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale.」

「Comfortable and well equipped room with air conditioning a particular benefit during the heat wave! Overall quality of service and food did not match the price level which was expensive for what was provided. In particular the additional charge for certain breakfast items, even though on a bed & breakfast rate was excessive. Service, though, was excellent including finding and keeping items we inadvertently left in the hotel room.」

「We have stayed here before several times but this time was really disappointing. We booked an accessible room but on arrival we were told this wasn't available and we were on the first floor. It was fortunate my operation for a knee replacement was postponed or I wouldn't have managed the stairs (no lift). The first floor room was stifling as it was during the ongoing heatwave. No fan provided. We went straight to get a cold drink (having driven 200 miles we were parched). Ordered the drinks...

「Ample parking, lovely beer garden, quite a lot of road noise in our room but traffic did reduce later, room was hot but we were in the middle of a heatwave.」

「The food was nice, the staff were friendly however the hotel itself is on the main Hereford road and the noise all night was really loud and therefore we had 2 nights of unrest and no sleep. Unfortunately this would stop us going again」

「Strikingly looking hotel. Unfortunately on entering reception, we were greeted with a dirty carpet, which carries on into the bar area with lots of stains. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, which I wasn't aware of when I booked. Therefore, in this heatwave, the room was an oven. There was a desk fan - 'thank goodness'. Pleased with the room, the layout and amenities. Curtains need seeing to, useless and need blackouts! All the staff were pleasant and hard working. Did not expect a buffet...

「We thought the breakfast buffet choices were limited, however the cooked breakfast was hot and plentiful. The staff were very efficient. Dinner was most enjoyable in a lovely dining room and the bar service was very good. Upon arrival we were given a room upgrade with a four poster bed, this was a lovely surprise. Parking was onsite without additional charge. If you are planning on walking the Malvern Hills this Hotel is in the perfect location.」
