Beautiful hotel with excellent stuff! There’s a lovely pool on the property that gets lots of sun. I thought it was in a great location as well. Would definitely stay here again!
Looking for a “go-to” hotel for our shorter stays in Cozumel. This hotel is clean and nice. The location is perfect for quick and easy access from the airport to hotel to beaches for snorkeling. Very happy with the quality of my stay.
Our stay at Luna Azul was marvelous. Everyone was super nice. It is located very close to the market. And to an amazing place to eat called Las Palma, the hot water was always available for a quick shower the pool is just the right temperature. We had an amazing stay, and we will be back next year!
Very nice small hotel with lovely grounds, including a poo. Its close enough to the water and centro, yet still in a neighborhood, so you can experience the local food and culture. Staff is super nice as well!
Luna Azul is a great option when staying in Cozumel. The rooms are simple but clean. The pool is on the smaller side but still quite enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Absolutely great value!! This is a beautiful little hotel in a neighbourhood area, away from busy traffic, and the persistent "look at my stuff" walks.
One of the best parts are the staff! Hard working, friendly, and always accommodating. Cathy George and David at the front desk are always ready to help, give advise or recommendations. The included breakfast is simple, and always fresh every morning. There are cafes a short walk away for alternative options. We had a room with two queen beds that was very clean and spacious. We also had friendly visits from Lucas, the local house dog. Cute and friendly. Never barks or begs. Just wants attention. The pool area is nice, always clean, and while not heated, the sun does a great job of this by late morning. There is a beach area by UVAS you can arrange a day at, with transport and all inclusive. Most everything else is within a 15-20 minute leisurely walk. Restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. Barbara, the tour operator on site is more than happy to assist with whatever you need to reserve, from tours, taxis, rental cars, scooters, diving, and so on.
We enjoyed the quiet. The home-like comfort and friendliness in a pretty setting.
Nice clean hotel for this price point. Close enough to walk everywhere and away from the crowds. Staff was fert helpful and the breakfast was better than I was expecting. The only downside was a couple of dogs across the street that liked to chat to the passersby.
The room was clean and comfortable! The bed was clean and comfortable for sleeping. There was AC. The bathrooms were nice and they provide clean towels. The balcony for my room with hammock/swings was perfect for relaxing! The pool is clean and the breakfast was great. The staff is very helpful! The hotel is located about a 7 minute walk to the beach and cruise port area if you want tourist type things, but it is far away enough that you weren’t in the middle of chaos. There is a grocery store, a perfect coffee shop (Cafe De Isla), and some really great restaurants within like 4 minutes. I will definitely be back to stay at Luna Azul!
My stay at Luna Azul was wonderful! The staff are so helpful and I never had any issues. The pool was lovely and very refreshing. It’s a small quaint little hotel with all diversity of people visiting. The only thing that I could say would need improving if it’s even possible is the Wi-Fi is a little unstable but as long as I went to the lobby, I had full Wi-Fi just not always in my room. And the lobby was steps away from my room, so it was never a big deal. I would highly recommend the Luna Azul for any travelers on a budget. For me, it was very affordable compared to many other places. I would definitely stay there again.
The staff is very friendly and very well to help.
A little bit far from the ferry, so walking with the luggage in the middle of the heat is horrible.
Transportation works well if you travel with car or you just go around with a mototaxi which you can take 1 block from the ferry.
Taxi is very expensive
This was my second stay at the Luna Azul and I will stay there again. It’s a quaint little hotel with a very refreshing pool. It’s in a location where I can walk to the Malecon to go shopping… to find good restaurants. The staff at the hotel are wonderful and very accommodating. My room is always cleaned spotlessly every day. I trust the staff completely. The only thing that would make it better would to be a mini fridge in the room. But that is my only recommendation. I love this hotel. And I can’t go without saying how much I love Lucas, the little black dog that loves to visit the hotel. He’s always so happy to see me and keeps me happy because I miss my dog when I’m away.
Cute place. Bed comfortable. Really everything very clean.
Breakfast, rated zero. Bite of eggs, cold. Fruit empty. Needed to get coffee cup. Really blah.
Noisy, dogs all over neighborhood barked all night. I was on road and traffic was loud.
Big, clean room.. pretty grounds, lovely pool.
The staff were just wonderful. I'd stay again, not eat breakfast and ear plugs. Overall good place.
The landscaping was beautiful! The pool was so refreshing after arriving in the heat. The room was clean. The bed was okay. It was fairly firm. The air conditioning was a must!
The only downside to service was when we were at breakfast. There were 3 employees that were sitting next to us making phone calls, watching videos, and playing music loudly while we were eating.
We would stay again, as it is very reasonably priced, but had that small annoyance at breakfast.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Overall tnis property is well locationwise. It is noisy at all times, even at night time, with dogs always barking and lots of traffic, day and night, since its located in a busy avenue.
The rooms are clean and maintained, however we noticed that the bath towels always had a funky smell to them. I would advise to take your own towel.
The complementary breakfast was not always available, so if you are counting on having breakfast there every day, don’t!
For those that are used to the resort experience, Luna azul is not that, meaning that, don’t expect staff to be to your disposal nor ask for this and that, because chances are you won’t get it.
Luna azul is a place to just crash at night, shower, and go out about your day.
I have to say that I do recommend staying at luna azul if you are on a budget and or just want to venture out in to Cozumel and do your own thing.
This place was fine for wha we paid, honestly it was quick stop and we wanted a pool but it was not really in the best area if you want to venture out.
We have been here two years in a row now. It is perfectly situated for us in Cozumel. It is further back to be able to be surrounded by the culture but close enough to be by everything and by the ocean.
We absolutely love the rooms and think they are very clean, well taken care of, hot showers, and amazing people at the front desk. This place is an amazing hotel to go to on your stay! They are more than willing to help with taxis for you as well.
The staff is fantastic and they really care about taking care of whatever you need! Couldn't recommend this place more. It's a little oasis inside and very comfortable!
