「Pros: Hot Springs, Good meals with two restaurants, breakfast included; very nice staff Cons: Treehouse was awful to stay in and definitely not worth the money; very outdated, tons of bugs everywhere; it was like staying in a tiny cabin infested with bugs. So disappointing. :(」

「Clean rooms and friendly staff. La Fortuna is about a 30 min drive. The friendly (Giovanni and Louis) make the drive worth it. We were able to spot sloth from the facility (guess we were lucky). I would definitely recommend it if you are on a budget. 」

「Absolutely stunning place. As a photographer, it was hard to get through my head that a place like this can exist, with so much wildlife and scenery, without being staged. It was real and natural. Crossing the field to the restaurant, I was focused on a Parakeet up in the tree, then two Scarlet Macaws flew overhead and a Ringed Kingfisher showed up with a fish, just outside of the restaurant’s balcony! 「Simply amazing. From start to finish the receptionist was super helpful and welcoming. Beautiful property with so many places to relax, super aesthetically pleasing and a must stay at place if you’re visiting La Fortuna. It’s only a 6 min drive to the main strip in La Fortuna and if you decide to walk, you can get there in around 15 minutes. The room has an outstanding view of the river next to the property and if you wish you can go through the trail and go to creek to check it out yourself....

「The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. The property is on the top of a very steep hill...

「Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!」

「Hotel Sanctuarium is truly a sanctuary. The property is grand and meticulously cared for. Surrounded by tropical jungles, views of the mountains and the valley below, it was by far the best place to stay for our trip to La Fortuna. And it is only a 7 minute drive to the heart of downtown. There is a restaurant on site with exquisite food. Perfect after a long day of activities so we didn’t have to venture back into town every night to find somewhere to eat.
