"I'd like to write a positive review, but I'm disappointed. I'm a travel agent, and I was fooled by the pretty photos and good reviews. If my clients had stayed at this resort, I'd have had to immediately find them a new place at my own expense. The only positive is that there are cenotes on the resort grounds, and if you're staying at this hotel, you don't have to pay extra to visit and swim in them, as well as a small zip line and kayaks. Buses and cars with tourists who pay for these activities arrive at the hotel territory every day. On the negative side: We arrived at almost 11 p.m., when everything was closed, it was dark and a bit scary, and we were met by a man who didn’t speak English. But he took us to our building, where we rented two rooms. When I inspected the room in the morning, I was very disappointed. There was no microwave in either room, only one room had a coffee maker, but I was shocked by the state of the refrigerator and the sink with faucet in the kitchen, dishwasher sponge. The bathroom had the same faucet, and the towels were old and stained. It smelled like an old, musty room that hadn't been lived in for a long time and hadn't been maintained. The second issue was the pool: it's never been cleaned, and no one ever swims there. The pool is beautiful and large, but it's covered in leaves and insects, and there are a lot of trees all around. No one maintains it, and it feels like the resort has been completely abandoned. There's still som"
" Breakfast okay, could use some more options. Staff excellent. Ocean view spectacular. Room was clean but noted black mold on black out curtains… should be replaced. Other food on menu was excellent. "
"The location of the hotel is fantastic. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. The hotel is quiet and peaceful.
Our room could have used some basic maintenance- there were small holes in the wall and mold. Each time our room was tended to something was left behind (I.e., cleaning supplies in shower, dust rag on our dresser, bedding on chair). Would we stay agai"
"The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous time. Shoutout to Arturo for making us feel welcome. The rooms were clean & the hotel has everything you could ever need. Was extremely happy, especially for the price. I would absolutely stay here again, we can't wait to come back!"
"Casa Cenote felt like paradise when I arrived - and it only got better! I travel a fair amount, and almost never return to a place I’ve been - but I may make an exception this time! The location and rooms were picture-perfect, the swimming great, the staff wonderful… "
