We visited during a weekend in April and overall did really enjoy our stay. The location is great, you can walk to everything and there is easy, free parking. I knew it was a historic building so I wasn’t particularly bothered by some of the quirks others seem to complain about. The biggest complaint would probably be the lack of mini fridge in the room as they are pretty standard. We were traveling with our 2 young kids and it would have been nice to refrigerate some of their snacks or leftovers. We dined at the tavern for dinner which was nice. I would skip Nathaniel's for breakfast, food came out cold and you had to ask for basics like syrup w/ pancakes. Staff was very welcoming and friendly! Would return!

Fabulous & helpful staff. Very friendly. Room was immaculate & beautiful. The hotel was really lovely. Was on an impromptu trip with my young daughters, so didn’t get to visit the on site bar for an afternoon cocktail, we did enjoy a lovely breakfast in the Hotel’s restaurant the next morning. Perfect location, steps to all of the sites. Cannot wait to go back! Really fantastic.

When we arrived we sat at the bar fo a couple drinks and the bartender was very attentive and gave us information on things to do and see since we were never there before. It was a very home like environment and everyone was so friendly.

Food was amazing at both restaurants. It was on the more expensive side, but it seemed like any nice place is Salem was comparable and the food here was wonderful. No spooky stuff happened in our room, which was a relief to my partner (who didn’t know we were staying in one of the most haunted hotels in America). If you like a time period stay with updates, this is the way to go. They kept the classic parts of the hotel, but the bathrooms were updated with nice tubs and showers. The only thing was it’s on the smaller side (understandable as it is a 1920s building and everything was small). Such as the toilet paper was mounted to the bathroom door so when we showered (no vent) the condensation would get the toilet paper wet. They set the whole building to heat in the colder months (and cool in the summer months) and we are hot sleepers so we were worried we would get too hot. The windows open and they offer box fans if we got too hot (we never did and the room was set at 72 which is unheard of for us living at home in 67-69 degrees in our house). It was all very comfortable and cute and was a wonderful stay. When we come back to Salem we will more than likely book her again, especially since parking is included all the way until 10-11pm (I can’t remember exactly) on your check out day and they will even secure your luggage for you after check out so you can explore some more.

Classic and beautiful. I lived for the complementary afternoon hot cider they put out for guests. Perfect location right in the hotspot of Salem, with it being a hotspot itself. 15min or less walk from anything tourist wise. I would happily book here again :)

The first time we at breakfast the grill was being replaced. Very limited food choices. The second time we ate there was much better. Great food, service was really good considering only one server. Ambience quiet and lovely.

Cute historic hotel, great for walking around Salem. We were there one night for a conference. Calvin at the front desk was great—helpful and informative. We also ate at The Tavern while we visited for a quick bite and drink. Overall, the hotel was very clean, reasonably priced, and the staff was great. One thing to note: it seemed like they may have been painting somewhere on our floor—you could smell the paint, which is likely why the windows were wide open. Unfortunately, it was absolutely freezing up there, and that cold air seemed to trickle into our room. We did ask for extra blankets, and they provided them. The water in the shower also never got warm. It was definitely a chilly New England day while we were there, so a warm shower would have been great. We waited for it to heat up, but it never really did, so we unfortunately couldn’t take a proper shower
