「A gorgeous manor house-style hotel with so much charm! The staff were really helpful and welcoming, the bar was cosy and the continental breakfast was lovely. There are beautiful walks nearby, and the town is only a 10-minute drive away. Would happily recommend!」

「This is a gem in the cute little village in Alford. The staff, rooms, bar and restaurant were all great. Highly recommend this hotel.」

「Amazing place. We had a very relaxing stay.」

「Amazing breakfast, lovely people, everything we needed and more. We would definitely stay again.」

「Lovely room. We had an evening meal in the bar and the food was excellent. Breakfast was included and there was an excellent selection of cold buffet and cooked options. Again, lovely and very friendly attentive staff. If you want a tranquil location then do go and you won’t be disappointed.」

「The property in Ballater is in a fantastic location, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. It was also incredibly well kept and clean, which made for a very comfortable stay.」

「Easy parking to rear of hotel. Friendly, efficient welcome & check-in. Clean, spacious warm room (room 5). Good choice of tea/coffee. Large fluffy bath towels. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast again with excellent service.」

「A beautiful property. You can see they've really maintained the elegance of the house. There were just a few small things like the ceiling was a bit cracked, the faucet cap was missing, and the toilet needed to be pumped in order to flush. But the staff were great and the food was very good so all in all, I would recommend it as a place to stay.」

「A nice hotel that just needs a spruce up. Basic room that had ‘old lady perfume smell’ but clean. Friendly staff. Limited bar. Small but adequate breakfast buffet. Looks more like a retirement home than a hotel.」

「Love this historical village hotel! The staff were AMAZING! The cuisine was delectable! We could not be more delighted! Excellent value and hospitality!」

「Very helpful staff. Beautifully maintained property. Very comfortable bed. Delicious restaurant downstairs. Convenient location. Easy onsite parking. Would definitely stay here again.」

「The Sweet Donside Cabins are a little piece of heaven in Scotland, everything we could possible need was provided, we stayed in the Little Love Nest and the way it was decorated was absolutely amazing the added touches of pictures and ornaments was second to none, Lizzie and Brent are amazing hosts. Everything was spotless, the hot tub was ready as soon as we arrived and was such a treat with the lights all around the decking area. Each cabin is very private even though they are next to each...

「Very clean rooms, furnishing is tasteful and well considered. A warm welcome and great chance to swap traveller recommendations with fellow walkers/visitors. Extremely well managed and intuitive to use. Love the boot room, clean public spaces and ‘please use’ shelf in the fridge!」

「Stayed at this hotel」

「Our third stay in the apartment. As usual a very handy place in the centre of the Village. Lovely pub next door.」
