「It is a very beautiful hotel that is very easily accessible by metro and easy access to basically all of our points if interests (smithsonians, parks, museums, etc). I would say the immediate area in any direction for like 2-3 city blocks is pretty safe (it was just my best friend and I, two women traveling) - there a police car posted on a corner every single day at all hours which gave a sense of security. However, after the 2-3 city blocks, one of the directions had a bunch of homeless tents....
