Mexico and Central America Beach Vacations

Very disappointing experience. I originally booked an ocean-view room, but my view was essentially a wall! I had to pay an additional $225 to get the ocean view I had already paid for. Even worse, the upgraded room was a connecting room with absolutely no soundproofing. I could hear every conversation, laugh, and noise from the guests next door. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. The food was disappointing in every restaurant (5/10 at best), and the staff, although friendly, spoke very little English, making even basic communication difficult. Management did try to resolve my complaints, which I appreciate, but a vacation should be relaxing, not stressful. Unfortunately, I would neither return nor recommend this hotel.

We absolutely staying at Riu Palace Las Americas and highly recommend to everyone! All staff are extremely helpful! The variety and quality of food is really good! Our favorites are the Steakhouse, Mexican and Italian restaurant. Our favorites bartenders are Ernesto, Santy and Lorena! Housekeepers are amazing and the people that replenish the room drinks! Please be sure to tip everyone because they go above and beyond! They all deserve it

Great property if you’re looking for a nice relaxing getaway

Lovely property with good selection of high-end food choices and wonderful staff and service. Traffic around the hotel is absolutely abhorrent for the next six months. Hard sell of the resort was a disappointment- especially after traveling all night. An overall wonderful stay!
