I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Savoy Hotel Manila. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable. The moment I entered, there was a very strong and unpleasant smell that made the room uncomfortable to stay in. It smelled musty and poorly maintained. What made it even worse was discovering what appeared to be MOLD around the bathroom sink. For a hotel, cleanliness should be one of the most basic standards, and guests should never be given a room in this condition. I immediately complained and spoke with the manager because I refused to accept a room that smelled this bad and had what appeared to be mold in the bathroom. What was even more frustrating was that it took ALMOST TWO HOURS before I was finally transferred to another room. Two hours to resolve a basic cleanliness issue is unacceptable. I had already traveled and was tired, and instead of being able to rest, I had to spend nearly two hours waiting for the hotel to provide me with a room that was actually clean and comfortable enough to stay in.Yes, the manager eventually transferred me to another room, and I acknowledge that she ultimately resolved the issue. However, guests should not have to complain, wait for almost two hours, and go through this much inconvenience just to receive a properly maintained room. The location may be convenient, especially if you need to be near the airport, but convenience does not excuse poor cleanliness, a terrible smell.
