「A hidden gem in the very heart of the historic district. An old Spanish colonial house with an open courtyard. Walk 5min to the Basilica and the Plaza Grande. Lots of good restaurants around too. Full of green plants lovingly cared for (even polishing the leaves) by the staff. Mariam and her staff were super friendly and looked after me really well. It was truly a pleasure to stay there and I look forward to another visit.」

「I had a really enjoyable stay here at Hotel Sucre for 3 nights. The staff were very welcoming upon arrival. Shirley was brilliant. The rooms were very modern, clean and spacious. The towels were new and clean also. I felt very safe as the hotel had a guard who was also very helpful. Food options were great with choices of dishes and drinks. Un viejo edificio remodelado y bien adaptado para viajeros frescos y acostumbrados a conocer los rincones típicos de una ciudad con el ritmo local. Hay que subir escaleras y hay que disfrutarla vista matutina o el atardecer. Si desayunas temprano, ya estuvo, verás la niebla que baña el horizonte con su frescura sabrosa. 「Loved the hostel. Has the historic rustic vibe. Have daily events and walking tour on board schedule. In or around the old historic town. Not walking distance from your typical Holiday Inn and restaurants but closer to the typical Ecuadorian life style and food. Its like a maze inside the hostel with creaking wood floor.」

「A nice boutique hotel with great staffs. Location close to old town. Bed is comfortable and breakfast tasty. Two minor issues with my single room. First being no wardrobe. Second the bathing area is too open and water do spill out and wet the floor a bit.」
