「This is truly a very lovely and special inn. Everything was clean and well kept, lawn and lawn games looked inviting, the shared reading spaces were peaceful. We just should’ve done our research beforehand, because we didn’t realize the restaurant was closed two of the three nights we were there. But we’re so happy we discovered this wonderful place!」

「Beautiful castle building, free coffee at the reception, staff are very friendly and helpful. They even offered me a ride to the train station when the next train was coming within half an hour. Overall it’s a very pleasant stay. 」

There was a soft spot in the kitchen floor, and a big hole in the window screen that bugs could get through, and a bad smell from some overpowering cleaning solution that was over-applied. 「This is a very budget motel. I was only staying one night, but there was no dresser or closet or even a shelf, if I wanted to unpack anything from my bag; just two hooks on the wall over the table. The motel had a very dingy feel to it-- not dirty, per se, but dingy. Stains on the ceiling, cigarette burn in the blanket. No tissue box. 「Good to have parking. A good perk is free parking. The basement level has a beautiful library and conference room that looks like the hull of a ship. The restaurant in the hotel is good but pricey. The Nathaniel Hawthorne clam chowder is a small bowl and expensive....Walking distance to many things. Rooms are small and the bed fills up most of the room. No view to speak off. But it is a heritage hotel and the connection to Hawthorne was why I stayed. The staff were pleasant and helpful.」

「Rooms were clean. Only one elevator working for the three days we were there. This hotel is the”go to” for large groups. There were at least two different groups of teens there at the same time as us. May want to book somewhere else if you are looking for quiet.」
