"Not the most helpful of checkins which lasted all of 2 minutes - not told about breakfast times or check out. I think more pre occupied on taking the payment. Room was ok, mattresses were both hard so wasn’t the best nights sleep and we had noisy neighbours, as the walls must be thin- children arguing till near midnight wasn’t the best!!! "Lovely hotel, only thing that let it down was the very squeaky floor boards which meant I was woke up quite a few times during the night and then at 5.30am when someone wasn’t too considerate and was banging about in the hallway. "Perfectly located for strolls around Durham: Up to the Durham Cathedral, Durham Castle, Durham centre with restaurants, shops and cafés, less than 10 minute walk away. We paid slightly more for a premium river view walk and we did not regret it. Perfect view in the morning and dusk of the world passing by. Loved walking along Durham riverwalk. Highly recommend but would recommend you get dropped off if possible as parking is not free and can stack up if you’re staying more than one night. "
