Came here after Lake George & found this more enjoyable & our speed. Love that you can walk downtown to get a meal or ice cream. "

"We appreciated that they called us the day before to let us know if we couldn't make it by 9 that they would leave the key where we could easily find it. When we asked for ice, they gave us a bag from their own freezer. We were there for just one night, but we'd have been happy to stay longer. The pillows were firm (unlike the miserable 2 Hilton chains we just stayed at) and the beds comfortable. Shower was good, and I particularly liked that the shower mold had different levels for our bath supplies (soap was above and out of the way of the shower water, for instance--I haven't seen that before)."

"Everything was great, except for the first night which was after a hot summer day even for this region. With no air-conditioning, the fans which were provided helped a lot. The next two nights were cooler, so the sleeping nights were very comfortable. The room was clean and well prepared. We enjoyed our stay a lot! The price is lower at this hotel than any others. Here, we are outdoors a lot, so we do not need luxury. I prefer the rustic look as it brings back memories of child hood vacations w/ my parents. Thank you, John K."

"A beautiful Inn"

"I can’t say enough about this place - from every little detail, they thought of everything. We stayed here between two hikes and it was the perfect place to rest. Everything was comfortable and inviting. We booked the upstairs queen room with a private bathroom. And to our surprise it had its own sitting area with mini fridge, coffee station and microwave with chairs. Absolutely perfect to sit and enjoy. It’s so clean, and so adorable. The balcony has a great view and it was wonderful chatting with others who were also resting between hikes. They are so welcoming to dogs as well - our dog enjoyed it and was just as comfortable.. The staff is amazing and incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back as we plan more hikes in the high peak region and we honestly can say it’s just as much of a highlight as the hikes!! "The inn had a lot of character and antique accents. Our room was spacious, clean, antique and modern at the same time. The inn keepers were attentive and kept pointing me in the right direction when I went out into the world. I wish I had more time here."
