"We had a few days in town as a couple, and really enjoyed our time at the hotel. We were met with a lovely welcome at reception. Our room was spacious, the beds were so comfortable, and the sheets and pillows were clearly very good quality. The restaurant was very nicely appointed, the wait staff very professional and friendly (thank you Sue, we really felt cared for), and, the food was delicious. The buffet breakfast was hot, flavourful, and fresh. We liked having the Nespresso in the room, and really appreciated that we could also get decaf pucks for it too. The building is filled with beautiful antiques, historic decor, and lots of comfortable nooks and crannies. We did not use the spa, as we were also visiting family, but if it is anything like the rest of the place, it will be beautiful and well run. A great place if you want something different from the usual travellers hotels. Oh, should mention, the area surrounding is very walkable, and there is a nice little village about 1k walk away (.6 of a mile). Parking is plentiful."

"Place has character. Much better than a chain hotel. Only issue is parking. There is none. They offer a 'discount' for parking in an underground parkade across the street for $26/night with no in / out privileges. The area of the hotel is not that great with a lot of people wandering around at night, not advised to leave your car on the street."

"The plastic mat for the tub was old and dirty with hairs stuck to the underneath suction cups."
