"This is a been there done that experience. The trains passing by was the most interesting part of this stay. It was the best part, but it was also the worst part. 30 to 40 trains go by (at least once an hour), 24 hours a day. During the day it was fun watching the trains, they pass by the hotel as far away as the 2 lane road. It is loud! The engines were load, the wheels squeaked &squealed. "My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. It was clean and had a lovely view from the main deck. What really made this house amazing was our hostess, Annie. She was very accommodating. Our breakfast was outstanding. Annie was extremely knowledgeable of the area and the best places to visit and eat. "I reserved 2 nights at this hotel. The entrance was a bit crowded with no where to temporarily park for check-in. The check-in was fine and my room was clean. I was hoping to enjoy the outdoor pool, but the water was cloudy and I wasn't sure how clean it was. There was ONLY 1 ice machine working in the entire hotel. 🙄. The housekeeping staff were the most friendly and helpful, I cant say the same for the check-in desk. I made my reservation through Expedia and it included breakfast ($8 a day)both mornings. However, when I went to breakfast their reservation didn't show that I paid at the time of making the reservation. If I wanted breakfast, it would be $16.95 per day. SUGGESTION:If you reserve this hotel, screen shot what it includes so you wont pay for something and not receive it. The ladies at the reservation desk could not have been LESS FRIENDLY. The location was good, as well as the view of the Ohio River."
