"On this one night trip I was in a single room. A week later I was upgraded free of charge to a double room. Staff helpful, room clean though quite small.
The hotel is in the red light area which was interesting, with plenty of bars and dining options. It is a 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal so very convenient. Probably no parking so wouldn't recommend for people travelling by car.
I would use this hotel again."
"As others have said, this hotel is located in an excellent, central location. While this means that you are a 10-minute walk to the train station and all restaurants and shops are within a stone's throw, it also means that you are staying on the most crowded, busiest, and loudest street in the city. So if you're looking for a quaint place to stay, this isn't it! However, once in the room, we couldn't hear the street at all (we were in the back of the hotel, also looking out on a busy walking street). We could easily relax in the room and feel removed from the hustle and bustle. We also loved how large our room was. We had a superior double room, and we had so much space. The bathroom was spacious, and it was a great room for two people. Housekeeping does an excellent job every single day. Our room was always cleaned meticulously. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant as there were so many other options close by. For future visits, I would definitely consider staying here again. I loved having so many cafes and shops close by, but I was not a fan of the crazy street scene outside the hotel, so that would be the only reason I may consider a different hotel. That being said, everything within the hotel's control was fabulous, and I would highly recommend it."
Once a camping spot for hippies, the huge monument in Dam Square commemorating those who have fallen in war is now Amsterdam’s center of the annual Remembrance Day.
