"Good hotel options in the centre of Puerto Natales are limited, but Hotel Vendaval has an excellent location. You’re right in the heart of town, with restaurants, bars, and shops on your doorstep. The exterior isn’t particularly inviting, and the interior has a bit of a university‑dorm feel. The rooms are small, and I struggled to manage a large suitcase, but everything was very clean. In the middle of winter, the room was warm and cosy. There’s no lift, which made carrying a heavy suitcase difficult, but the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and kind—they assisted me with the bag, and the service throughout my stay was genuinely very good. The Wi‑Fi didn’t work when I first arrived, but once it connected, it was adequate for messaging and basic browsing. Breakfast was disappointing: limited options, stale bread, and a stale croissant one morning. It would be nice to have boiled eggs or more cereal choices such as granola. The fresh fruit, however, was good. As an Expedia Platinum member, my VIP Access benefit included a free drink. The staff kindly gave me a bottle of red wine and upgraded my room to a city‑view. One downside is the bar opposite the hotel—I was woken several times by late‑night revellers making a lot of noise."
