「The location is quite good. Since it is located near the hot spot, it is very convenience for buying and eating. The hotel is alos quite near to the bus and train station. The environment is quiet and the experience of living there is great. The staff is helpful when I am in trouble and this is a hotel that I will strongly recommended if staying in Kyoto.」

「If one is looking for a western-style hotel, this is the wrong place. On the other hand, if one is looking for living (mostly) like a Japanese family would, in a real Japanese neighborhood, then you are looking at the right place. This place is 100% Japanese except that it has 2 full-size western beds, which is not common. And, it has a modern Japanese toilet (heated seat, ETC.) which, I'm guessing, is not too common in 'normal' homes due to their expense. The two 'issues' for us were:...

「Beautiful traditional machiya very close to transit and walkable to many places. Laundry on the corner and grocery around the block. The stairs to the second floor were quite steep and the first floor could have used some more furniture, but really no real complaints 」
