"Our room was very dirty. There was pink scum around the basin and bath. Cobwebs above the bath. The laminate flooring was uneven and chipped. There were food crumbs in the bedside drawers. I don’t think this room has been cleaned for a while. Breakfast was ok. The fridge where the bottle milk was kept in the breakfast room had dirty stains and hair on the bottom of it. I’m glad the milk was in capped bottles. The staff were very friendly. I guess this place was cheap for a reason!!!"

"Very basic hotel, fine if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. Hot taps are very hot and water pressure is very high, so difficult to get the flow and temperature right for a shower, without it being too hot or too cold, or blasting water horizontally. Shower curtain very small so bathroom floor is flooded after a shower. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable. I only booked this because nothing else was available (high demand due to BTCC at Thruxton). Staff was very friendly...

"There was plenty of parking and room was adjacent to tge car park, very handy. Beds were very comfortable and the towels were very good A perfect location for a one night stop over"

"Breakfast was lovely, staff helpful. Room was a bit tatty round the edges, but the bed was comfortable. Room was very hot in this weather. Could do with a fan or mobile air-conditioning unit."

"We always love staying at Chiseldon House. The rooms are well kept and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Even though a little expensive, the food is also very good. We stay there often and look forward to our next visit."
