「We stayed at the Horse and Farrier the night before our hike up Scafell Pike, it's only a 25 minute drive to Seathwaite Parking, if you're going up the corridor route. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was clean, well presented and comfy. Definitely recommend eating nd staying here!」

「Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10」

「I really enjoyed my stay here, owners were so nice and helpful, while i am not a vegetarian the breakfast was really good, perfect omelette and I really appreciated the butter was actually at room temp so it could be spread and not rip the toast apart. Great sound proofing and very comfy bed. Thanks very much」

「A grand hotel in the countryside, it's a shame the state it's in now. The carpet is worn out in place's, the game's room is a complete mess and the hotel smells damp & musty. The dining room is grand and well maintained, the food is pretty good. The staff are friendly and helpful.」

「This is a hard review to right as it appears staff there work and I hesitate try their best to help maintain “the flogging of a dying horse”. On arrival the car park is pot holed and camera driven parking fine so make sure your reg no in system within 10 mins. It’s obvious the building is deteriorated showing age wear and previous leaks in ceilings. Surprisingly room was ok , clean sheets , towels, hot water etc but again no real comfort. Breakfast was buffet but quality , care & presentation...

「The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...
