"Set on a working farm in beautiful countryside with far reaching views. The property was lovely & clean & contained everything needed for a relaxing stay. A very comfortable bed, a lovely shower with plenty of hot water & the property was lovely & warm. There was plenty if onsite parking. Troutbeck Inn

10/10 Excellent

"Loved our stay at the Troutbeck inn! Staff seemed hardworking and very busy but remained friendly and approachable at all times. Our stay was very quiet and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was great and, though I'm never normally a full English person at breakfast, I had one of theirs as my partner's breakfast looked cracking on the first morning (and mine didn't disappoint!) It's in a good location for Keswick or if you're bagging Wainwrights nearby. We also booked a table for food one night (they get busy) and the pie and sticky toffee pud to follow were fair decent. Highly recommend!"

Shap Wells Hotel

"We love staying at the Shap Wells Hotel, tucked away in the folding hills of moorland, yet not far from the M6. This is a beautiful old hotel, with lots of history and it has that patina of age.., Nothing is super modern, or perfect which is wonderful, it means it still has all of its character, the wood panelling, the grandfather clock on the stairs, the super large dining room. Truly unique..!"

"The room and bathroom were clean, Not a complaint but the shower was a bit small, if you're on the larger side of life you might find it difficult. Shower gel and soap was all vegan too. The owners were friendly and helpful, gave me some good advice on places to get food on the evening. I stayed for 1 night and it was perfect. Breakfast was tasty, perfect for a vegan and set me up for the day. I'd definitely stay again"

"We love the Leeming House Hotel, it is sad though that since it was Trust House Forte, it has gradually become tired, some of the exterior paintwork needs urgent work, the gardens are not what they used to be, the rooms are fine, however loving the contemporary furnishings for the period of the house, it is disappointing that it is all a bit tired, some paint could be bought and A Little love put into the building. On the side of service, I am disabled and my wife went downstairs to get some tea at The about four or 430 in the afternoon and she found someone to order it from, because there was no telephone in the room from which to order room service! And she needed two trays of tea as her sister and brother-in-law were going to join us for tea and she was told that was no problem, but it would be £20 to deliver the tea, incredible for a Hotel of that quality to blatantly charge for something that is a normal service is incredible, obviously we were happy to pay for the tea but it was the delivery also my wife asked for some biscuits and they said they didn't have any!! After lunch with my coffee I did ask if there was any chocolate and Jeff the weekend manager who is so nice said they don't have chocolate in the building however he went away and found some delicious home-made shortbread, what happened to that teatime!! The next morning we had a very nice breakfast, although the enjoyment was dampened as my sister-in-law asked for a latte to be told that was an extra charg"
