「This is a very old property. The current owners are trying to update everything. I wish I could give it a higher rating because they're trying so hard. The rooms are very dated but the beds were comfortable. They are updating the rooms one at a time The location is great, less than half a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hopefully they can revive this motel. There's a great restaurant down the road in Linville Falls called The Famous Rockhouse. I highly recommend them for breakfast.」

「We always wanted to stay here and now we have! The views and campus were absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. The room was quaint but not sure worth the luxury price. Air conditioner was a little loud which I guess helped quiet the talking at the bar since our room was close to it. Ice machine was outside and there is no elevator if you are older and need that. 「We have stated this Hotel number of times while in the Sprucepine area. They are renovating the rooms, so some are updated, some are not but are still functional. The Hotel has really easy parking in front of your room, you can get a good night sleep here.」

「Breakfast was good. Make your own waffles, danishes, fruits, bagels, sausage , eggs, toast, oatmeal. Beds were really hard, my back hurt after sleeping. Ac was … trying its best. Pool was closed both days, which was very disappointing since that was the reason we booked here. Upon arrival I couldn’t find a desk clerk, so we left and came back 30 minutes later .
