The air con in the room was hot and cold all the time, can never get the room to a comfortable temperature and stay like that. Probably being picky, was definitely expecting room coffee is better than a nescafe 43 sachet. After housekeeping we werent given fresh face wash, when asking the staff said they ran out. Every morning when the airline staff checking out the front foyer was a mess, always a struggle to get to the lifts. We liked the bar, good seatings. And its great location if you are after somewhere in darling harbour

I was there on conference. I had my twin grandchildren and their mother with me. I was surprised to find the hotel so unaccomodating. Every request was very reluctantly handled. I needed extended ours. The conference started at 9.30, in Novotel. Checkin was 3pm? more than half the day gone. I needed the room at 9am. Babies needed to be fed and changed and put to sleep. I requested this when I booked BUT... they made a big fuss. Nonroom was ready to go into until after 1pm. My daughter had to sit in the lobby and try tend her babies and keep them quiet etc for half a day! They also carried on about an extra charge. Same thing at checkout. No extension unless I paid more. I was already paying $430/ night. Conference went to 5.30pm. What were we supposed to do with babies after 12 noon? I would not stay there again.

Absolutely below standard customer service and policies. We had a family medical emergency on the day of the check in and had to be in ED for almost 7 hours. We had to cancel our flight tickets as well. We requested multiple times to consider the booking for refund or some kind of voucher to be used in future but their team did not bother to even discuss the option with us and just sent an email that they have decided that there is no solution other that forfeiting the entire amount (approx AUD 1000 for two nights) Will not recommend Novotel as they lack empathy when the customer is undergoing emergency.
