Hotel Majapahit transforms you back to a different era with it's exquisite decor and history. If you are in Surabaya you must stay at Hotel Majapahit. It has all the amenities required and is in a great location. On top of that the staff are the most attentive I have experienced anywhere in the world. I would rate higher if possible.

Lovely suite

Very friendly staff, we were upgraded to a lovely suite which was very comfortable and much appreciated. Lovely heritage hotel from 1910. The room was tasteful and very clean, although the hotel grounds (pool) appear to need some investment and proper maintenance. Dining options were also a bit disappointing and would recommend dining out.

Amazing stay

We spent 4 nights at the Majapahit hotel and it was such a fantastic place to stay we found it hard to leave the hotel and explore Surabaya! The room was great (very spacious and well maintained given they are in a historical building). The grounds are stunning. The lobby has a fantastic cocktail bar and the high tea was excellent.

A really nice, colonial style, property. Staff were lovely. For a small hotel, there were several dining options. Food and cocktails were good. It very convenient for Borobodour, yet quiet and peaceful with nice grounds.

The property has an interesting history and the layout is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. The room had a bit of a moldy smell but was comfortable. Traffic in the area is crazy.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city

It's a really beautiful property in the heart of town. Staff were friendly and helpful, although their English was limited. Breakfast included a nice mix of Indonesian and Western fare. One bonus was the car-free morning on Sundays, which allowed us to walk along JalanTunjungan, which is usually very busy.

No other hotel like this. Take the opportunity to live in this historical building with amazing decor. Not only are you going to travel in time but you will also feel at home with the amazing staff who are the kindest peoole you could ever meet. The food too was amazing if ever feeling too lazy to find anything on Tunjungan street, but having that street just outside made the balance between Surabaya city bustle and the oasis at Majapahit perfect. Having stayed there for 3 weeks I wouldn’t ever say no to stay as long or longer again! Anyone should treat this as a must-visit for any trip. Thank you for the experience.

This is a repeat visit and I was warmly welcomed back. My room had a surprise waiting for me, fresh flowers and a snack as well as a thank you from management. Whatever my reason for traveling to Surabaya, I wouldn't stay at any other hotel. The architecture and surroundings are unique and beautiful but the true beauty of this hotel is the staff who are friendly and well-trained to attend to details. This is a charming gem of a place. I happily look forward to future visits.
