This winter resort has abundant powdery snow that is ideal for a ski or snowboarding getaway. It also provides sunny summer adventures.

As you pull up to the sandy yellows, honey oranges and brick reds of Sun Peaks Ski Resort’s downtown façades, imagine yourself in the Scandinavian towns where skiing was invented. With over 130 trails on 4,270 acres (1,728 hectares), Sun Peaks Resort has a Nordic charm along with ample skiable terrain. Come here for the steep glades and cozy atmosphere and stay for the gorgeous alpine scenery and abundant sunshine.

Over 90 percent of the trails at Sun Peaks are at intermediate and expert levels. Surprise yourself by landing a jump at the terrain park. Careen down the double-blacks. Reach new velocities at the perfectly groomed Race Centre.

Sun Peaks also provides a stimulating environment for beginners. Its friendly staff has extensive experience with new skiers and can help them develop the confidence and skills that they need for the slopes. Take a private lesson and see what skiing or snowboarding is all about. Celebrate your mastery of the bunny slopes with a snowtube ride when you’re done.

While Sun Peaks is a destination for skiing and snowboarding, it is also the perfect place to try a new winter activity. Cheer for the Kamloops Blazers at a hockey game. Practice your moves on a freshly resurfaced ice skating rink. Tour the vast mountain ranges on a snowmobile.

During the summer, Sun Peaks maintains an impressive selection of fun activities. Kayak or canoe on McGillivray Lake. Return a tennis serve in the brisk air of one of the outdoor tennis courts.

Sun Peaks Ski Resort is an hour’s drive from Kamloops Airport and a 2.5-hour drive from Kelowna International Airport. Stay in a hotel, motel or your own condo. Whether you want to be on the slope when you wake up in the morning or secluded in a quiet area, Sun Peaks has plenty of options. Wherever you stay, wake early and take advantage of the full day ahead of you.

Next time we go, (in a year or so for another snow skiing retreat) it will be to stay for 2 - 3 weeks. This place didn't have kitchenettes. We need one to stay that length of time.

Careful booking lift tickets on their web-site as they do not offer ANY help on typos even when reported immediately and well before the trip. Yes - still bitter

Fantastic, family-friendly skiing. True ski in/ski out of the village, lots of dining options, and world-class skiing.

Very nice, but it is getting more expensive every year -- definitely faster than the inflation rate. Restaurants are not equipped to handle lots of customers and service can be extremely slow (read, 2 hours).
