The Don proved to be an absolute paradise for our stay in St. Petersburg. It is convenient to amenities while letting you get away from it all. Walking from the pool deck onto the pristine white sandy beach provides a view of spectacular sunsets and the glistening gulf frequented by dolphin and decorated with seashells and sand dollars. The staff is attentive and kind essentially anticipating your every need. Overall the hotel was a 5/5 in every category.

The property had just reopened after sustaining substantial hurricane damage. I can't say enough about how kind all the staff were, they were genuinely happy we were there and went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and up to date. The beach is gorgeous and having beach set-up daily was an added perk. I enjoyed the beach yoga and we had a night cap in the lobby bar every night during our stay, there live music each night and the chocolate martinis were fabulous! We enjoyed the Pink Palace!

We had a fabulous stay at the Don. We scheduled a last minute spring break trip for our family of 4. The stay was overall great, and we are going home well rested. I gave 4/5 as we had to initiate getting our room tidied the first few days, towels at the pool/beach and in our room seemed hard to come by. The windows needed washed. Trash bins at the beach stayed overflowing the entire weekend. Seemed short staffed. I’m hopeful they will make a full comeback in the weeks to come.

Only one pool was open during construction and half the amenities are closed and there were kids kicking soccer balls into the pool and parent throwing kids across the pool which we did with our kids but not at $600 a night hotels and $100 lunches. No staff ever stopped the craziness. We were hopping for a quieter 25th Anniversary weekend but got the LaQuinta Inn pool experience. The Don is absolutely beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the night there except the pool time. It’s an iconic hotel with a great beach. Our parking was comped for the issues. The Don Cesar is still an amazing place, not withstanding our under construction visit, Also they were only open a few week since the hurricanes so we know they will be back to its full grandeur soon.

It was beautiful to look at and most of the staff were great. We had no hot water the whole time we were there and they didn't work on it or keep us updated on the situation. We were there for 5 days and never did they figure it out. Also there is barely any options for food on site. There is no vending machines or basic things you might need while staying in a hotel. You had to jump in a car to get anything needed. Which got real expensive tipping and ubering. Super expensive drinks and they charged our room for someone else's drinks onto our card. Was not impressed. Will go back to the Sirata next time.

We had to move to three different rooms because they didnt have hot water. First room was 107, no hot water. Moved to 117 and had hot water for the night. Woke up in the morning, no hot water. They told us they will move us to the side of the hotel thats not affected. Why didnt you to that in the first place. We went to room 455, it was teo queens instead of a king we originally wanted to stay in. Air conditioning was loud, we saw the filter, which was dirty. It was a bucket list item to stay here, but it would have been a nightmare if i were able to get any sleep.
