"The room was gorgeous! Bravo for the elevated and tasteful decor. The exterior does need a little facelift here and there as it is an older hotel, but there is a "classic," old Hawaii charm about it. Bell Attendant was a bit pushy when we did not let him take our bags before check in - asking repeatedly - when guaranteed check in was only 30min out. Other than that, the staff at the Veranda was so nice and cheerful and dinner at Arancino was amazing. This is a great option to stay outside of Waikiki."

"Excellent location South of all the Waikiki craziness but close enough to walk to everything and a beautiful beach with calmer waters and local charm. Coffee shop and restaurant were great (especially the cocktails) and room/bed was very comfortable. The large sliding glass doors are completely sound proof which is great if you are a light sleeper. Even the park view rooms have a great partial ocean view from the balcony. Front desk staff was touch and go as far as friendliness and helpfulness goes—that’s my only knock on this gem of a hotel."
