"The best part about this motel is that they don't require a security deposit. This good for any one traveling on a low budget. The room was clean, the electrical outlets and air conditioner all worked fine. Didn't get too many T.V. channels, but it was fine for me because i was there to get alot of rest. So if its somewhere that you want to rest comfortably, Empire Motel is the spot to go to traveling on a small budget. The Motel has close by Metro train rail access to North and South Los Angeles."

"This is an okay place but the cleanliness is not there. They never mop the floors so I can only assume the whole place is not that clean."

"This place isn't too bad if you can get past some very important factors. Location is the biggest limiting factor because I had been woken up to gun shots and glass shattering from the main street and people's car alarms. Parking is limited and if you park on the streets nearby, you leave your car to the mercy of south central LA. I mean this area is not for the faint of heart. I was genuinely surprised by how spacious the room was, A/C blows cold and the water was hot with great pressure. Staff is helpful and I didn't have any complaints from the other hotel guests. Also the airport is relatively close and for the price it's a great one night stay. Just don't expect to walk around in the area, this place is not gentrified and possibly never will. Uber will be your friend for non-car visitors. Oh and if you go up the street there is a nice park near the university of southern California with some cool museums."

"The room I stayed in was clean and free of roaches. That is a big plus. The tv control you have to ask them to give you one with batteries but that about it if you wish to watch tv. The Papa is really kind hearted and very respectful and I honor him for that."

"Check out is actually 10am and not 11am. And a 20 dollar deposit. It would have been nice to know this before booking. Besides that it was a good stay."
