"We booked this hotel for 1 night prior to heading to Galveston for a cruise. Prior to booking I called the hotel directly to verify they offered a hotel shuttle. Unfortunately when we arrived we found out that they take a break from noon to 3pm and we landed at 1:30. So we had to find our own transportation to the hotel. We were able to check in early and greatly appreciated that. We did have issues with our room. There was an ant problem. They were all over in the bedroom. When we came back to our room from dinner I found them on the bed. Additionally the TV remote wasn’t working properly. The power button was ripped off so you could only turn on the tv on manually. Then once it was on the volume was very loud. We could not turn it down, with the remote or manual controls. Very frustrating when I am used to sleeping with the tv on quietly. The elevator was very dirty with stains on the walls. Not a great first impression. Our room was also missing some furniture as we booked 4 of the same rooms. No table and chair in the living room. Hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. "

"The pictures posted on the listing/website are misleading. I know pictures have to be touched up, but those pictures were not an accurate representation of the actual property. Driving up, the property looks old and outdated. We were skeptical but wanted to give it a chance. Walking up to the front doors felt like they have high crime issues or a need for more oversight around the area. The gentleman working the front desk was exceptional and his customer service was outstanding. Probably the only good thing going for the property and why we gave it a chance. The lobby, elevators, and hallways need updates and a good cleaning. Entering the room, same vibes; they need updates. The bathtub in our room was halfway filled with water. It wasn’t a special request or very welcoming. The receptionist at the front desk said the faucet leaks and they are supposed to check the tub every other day to ensure the drain plug isn’t down. We requested a new room as we weren’t sure the last time the tub had been cleaned. The next room, no drain plug for the tub and there were used bandaids on the wall. We quickly exited the room and requested a refund for our stay. We aren’t the type of family who requires the nicest hotels around. We want comfortable and clean. Outdated doesn’t bother us. But we couldn’t allow our young children to stay in a place we didn’t feel safe or clean. "

"Room was roomy & clean. Staff was outstanding - very friendly & accommodating. Only complaint - no ice machines. There was a refrigerator in our suite, but it did not have an ice maker & there are no ice machines/buckets to go get ice. Front desk clerk took me to the dining area kitchen to fill up my water bottle with ice, so that was appreciated!"
