The towels are luxurious and the toiletries are classy. There are even pods provided for the Nespresso machine! The fridge is stocked with essentials, and even some non-essential treats. The Caledonian Hotel

The Caledonian Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice welcome at reception. Lift to our room good. Room very basic, white painted walls with 1 poxy picture above the bed. Very basic furniture in room, wardrobe & sort of desk/dressing table. Nowhere to put the case so it went on the floor! Couple of chairs. Because we'd had a long day stopped here for dinner, acceptable 3 courses £25. Bar was busy with a coach party and only 1 person behind bar, occasionally aided by another. Bed not very comfy and ensuite smaller than the caravan's we'd just stayed in! Breakfast passable. All in all not the best place we'd stayed in during our trip around Scotland but one of the most expensive! Was that because we had a view of the loch?? Not one we'll return to. As usual nice friendly staff however."

"Close to train station, parking out front if you are lucky to get a spot. If unable to get a parking spot out front, I parked around the corner and it was only a short walk. Large room allowed for plenty of storage for luggage, it was nice and warm for our 2 night stay. Staff were helpful at reception regarding directions and nearby amenities. Laundry was 4 minutes away so easy to do. Hotel is close to Victorian markets and walkable to the loch. Overall enjoyed my stay here"

We adored the family room with the bunk beds, such a great idea for families traveling with young children so we could all be together but have designated space for everyone to sleep. We also loved the pool and waterside, kids couldn't get enough! We highly recommend this hotel while visiting Loch Lomond!"
