"Room was abit disappointing. Not very clean, mugs and spoons in the room dirty. The check in process was 25+ minute wait. We were looking forward to using the pool during our stay, to find out it was closed for a big chunk of the day and didn’t reopen until 15.30. By then we would have been travelling back home. I didn’t quite understand why the pool would be closed bang in the middle of the day during the weekend. Quite disappointed in the overall stay for the Money we paid. We won’t be back. "

"Beautiful setting. Plenty of room to park. Staff friendly & efficient. The restaurant & bar staff are very smart in uniform with their hair tied back. Our stay was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. In our room we found a chilled bottle of bubbly, a card & a plate of tasty bites....a very nice thoughtful touch. Thankyou!"

"The hotel is VERY basic - imagine Travel Lodge (20 years ago). We had to have dinner there, food was very basic and bland. Breakfast (£12.50) was like a greasy spoon. On a positive note the views from the room were good and the staff were very friendly."

"Very poorly maintained hotel and overly priced for what you get. Their excuse is it’s a “old building” and they are working on repairs but in my view this does not excuse the price point or lack of maintenance. Would not recommend and will never be back."

"The hotel was in a great position. Parking is just a few minutes near the cathedral and reasonable price for 24hrs at £5. The walk by the Ness was just perfect for taking the dog's and then over the bridge. We had perfect view of the castle from the hotel. They even allowed us to have the dogs in the bar area which was great. "
