"The spot is pretty much in the center of San Pedro, so it is very conveniently located. The hotel doesn't really offer much but if you're just looking for a place to crash the night in, it is a good option. Shower was surprisingly good but the rooms overall were mediocre. The owner is a nice guy and I would recommend this place for anyone just passing by and needed somewhere to stay over at for a few days. "

"Enjoyed my stay at Art & Coffee. Owned by expat Americans living their dream. Very positive and friendly people. Large single story rooms with outdoor patios. I opted to eat at the adjacent cafe inidgo every morning - which has great food and waterfront view. "

"Beautiful hotel with amazing gardens! Delicious food at the restaurant! Great service. The front desk arranged for a ride for us to Panajachel after we missed the ferry. Such an amazing, relaxing place! "

"I truly loved my stay here. It exceeded my expectations. The amenities were amazing, from the complimentary breakfast to direct lake access with included kayaks. Being able to bring my pet along made it even better!
The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The rooms were beautiful, very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay.
The property itself is stunning. Perfect for spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and taking in the peaceful views. The free breakfast was traditional, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again!"
"This was one of my favorite hotel stays in 30 years of global travel. I’m a budget traveler that values natural beauty and unique locations over fancy amenities or 5 star service, so that’s my reference point. La Casa del Mundo is located on a beautiful part of Lake Atitlan with amazing views throughout the day and night. Being on a cliff, you’ll walk up and down a lot of stairs, but there are many places to have a seat and enjoy the views while you catch your breath (if needed). Also, being on a cliff, there were several jumping spots into the lake.
My wife and I walked to both close villages and enjoyed slightly cheaper options on those excursions.
The staff were very service minded and spoke much better English than my limited Spanish. Also, though we stayed in a budget room with a shared bathroom 10 feet away, it was no problem. Also, the shower was a separate room than the toilet so that made sharing very easy.
Lastly, the grounds are beautiful and my wife and I took scores of amazing photos of the grounds and the views of the lake and volcanoes.
It’s a bit remote to get to, but if you’re game for getting a bit off the beaten path and are able bodied to handle a lot of stairs, I highly recommend La Casa del Mundo!"
"I have never been to a hotel with staff this wonderful. The views are idealic. The restaurant on site was excellent and a good value. We felt at home very quickly. The hotel only has 10 total rooms. We were able to chop it up and meet other guests. A+. Staff always cheerful and helpful!
I only have one complaint that is the same at every other hotel I have stayed at around Lake Atitlan. That complaint is the dogs! They are barking all night and here is a disco which can get rather loud. The hotel actually has ear plugs laid out for guests when they checkin. "
"The view and entire ambience was so beautiful, staff were kind and welcoming. The rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable but the view of lake Atitlan from my room was divine! That made up for the room being basic . "
"A charming little place with a welcoming staff, sweet cats on the property, and a gorgeous view of the lake. Nothing too fancy, but definitely more than you’d expect for the price."
"Great property. Quiet, quaint, and peaceful. My only recommendations for improvement would be to do a contactless check-in like Casa Lobo. This would save time for both the management/owners and any potential guests. Then people can just check-in with a special pinpad or lockbox. Especially since the doorbell is not working anyways.
The Treehouse could also probably use some new blankets, pillows, and sheets as even after going through the laundry it still smelled like the prior guest. A couple of ants and spiders as well, but that is to be expected in a treehouse.
Overall an amazing experience. I would come here with my s/o again in a heartbeat if we are in San Pedro La Laguna again. Also very affordable and accommodating management/ownership. Comms were a bit delayed, but understandable. God bless you all. "
