"The staff were very friendly and courteous. The area of the resort was Sant Teresa which is an artsy area and easy to get around. Transportation is very easy to get around with uber and trolly. "

"This property is unreal. Brings the old world with the new one. Grounds are unbelievable and the views even more so. The staff is so friendly, accommodating and genuine. "Hotel Vila Gale in the Lapa district of Rio is a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent and there is a large swimming pool and sunbathing area. Lapa is close to the Sambadrome during Carnival season, but the area is rundown and there are many rough sleepers on the streets. However, we did not experience any issues and loved all the faded splendour of the old buildings. "
