"Room overlooked the beach. The housekeeping was 50/50 didn’t fully clean the rooms as they should. The young lady that help us with the activities in the front was GREAT "

"The property was ok compared to other resorts we have been too. We are very thankful we did NOT do the all inclusive package as the restaurant options were lackluster at best. Mix the rooftop bar was a great experience, best spot at the resort, just check the weather forecast before booking! The bartenders at gizmos down by the beach will charge you full price for virgin pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris for the kids, didn’t realize this until the last day when I asked someone at the pull bar, so beware. Also if you don’t do the all inclusive package I feel as though your service level will suffer at bars too. It seems like they need to hire additional folks to work at the restaurants on property as well, service was very slow when we did grab some small options to share before venturing out for dinner elsewhere. The beach area was nice, especially if you get out there early and get some good chairs and umbrella. No beach service, so don’t expect anyone to come around and take your drink or food order like most other resorts we’ve been to. Would definitely come back to SXM, but would stay somewhere else for sure. "

"The property is gated with guard. Check in easy. Room not what I excepted as the pictures show different please make sure to read the description as I thought I was getting something different. Elevator are slow. Pool area is nice. Location is great and close to local restaurants but you will still need a car. A casino right across the street. No face towels only hand which are very big to shower with. No housekeeping service and an additional $70 for cleaning after you leave. Overall I will stay 7/10 for stay. "

"The hotel itself was average and clean, the kids were happy because they mainly wanted to enjoy the pool and the sea — and those needs were met. What really affected our stay, though, was how we were treated by some of the staff. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced this before in parts of the Caribbean, and it’s disappointing every time. There were moments where we were clearly ignored in ways that others were not. For example, the beach staff refused to set up an umbrella and chairs for us, telling us to find an existing one at the back, while other guests were being set up right at the front by the water. I needed to be near the shoreline so I could watch my kids safely, but that courtesy wasn’t extended to us. Similarly, spa staff walked around offering menus to everyone except us. We had actually planned to book treatments, but after being overlooked like that, we decided not to. Despite these experiences, we absolutely LOVE St. Maarten — the island itself is wonderful, and we always enjoy being there. It’s just disappointing when moments like these take away from what should be a joyful visit, especially given that the Caribbean is my own heritage and yet I’m made to feel unwelcome while enjoying the progress we’ve all worked hard for."
