"The price and location is perfect, but this building is OLD and you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. Couldn’t really tell if the shower was clean and the AC/Heat ancient and outdated. The staff was wonderful though."

"No parking not helpful with disability guesses security guard only wanted to hold the door open, not help and unable mobile person to walk up steps.Did not know how to bring down the ramp and help. Staff was not present to help with getting inside the building."

"Black mold. Like everywhere. Elevator also doesn't seem to have been inspected since 2013. Broken level 4 button. Location is phenomenal, the staff was super kind and helpful, but the room itself (which, for the price, is what it is) was stinky and exceptionally moldy. The floor had this strange waxy residue on it, almost requiring you to wear socks lest you track something into the bed. Surprisingly the bed was fine, didn't seem to have any stains or smells. Shower/sink did their jobs, water was hot, soap and shampoo was provided as were linens, which were clean(?, had little black spots on the main large towels but otherwise fine enough). Main point: if you need quick and cheap access to the Tenderloin and some fun areas of SF, it is a reasonable price. No A/C, which is fine. Windows open with no screen and let some cool air in when needed. Don't expect anything super nice. It is a place to lay your head during a quick stay."

"If you need a clean room, comfy bed, and nothing else, then Hotel Garrett is a good option. The location wasn't in the best spot, just 1 block south of the Tenderloin. Parking is an additional cost and very expensive, we ended up using SpotHero to find a parking location that was much more cost friendly. The hotel rooms DO NOT have AC, so just be aware of that. We lucked out with having cooler weather, and were able to crack the windows. I can't imagine staying there in the middle of the summer though. There was also no mini fridge in the room, something to notate when wanting to bring back food/drinks. Their continental breakfast was nice and they offered yummy pastries."
