「Dean and Paul were exceptional hosts, and within minutes after our arrival it felt like we were visiting with old friends. It truly was one of the warmest and friendliest environments I have ever experienced at a boutique hotel. Paul’s skills as a chef were amazing, as well! The breakfasts were superb and the lone dinner eaten at the hotel was also memorably delicious. Clean rooms, super staff and a great location for exploring central Scotland, the Birchwood Pitlochry checks all these boxes...

「The hotel doesn’t have an elevator. I stayed on the first floor. Actually, there is a corridor between the first floor and the carpark with a few steps only. However, the receptionist didn’t told me about that. She simply told me to carry the luggages through the normal entrance and go up one floor “ONLY” . No help had been offered and she clearly knew I got a car. Nowadays, it is not usual asking the lady customers to carry the luggages going upstairs 」

「The hotel itself is looking a little tired in places, but the bedrooms have been tastefully redecorated and have everything you need - comfy bed, good bathroom with shower cubicle, hairdryer, coffee machine, kettle, large smart TV, free WiFi and even an ironing board and iron. It wasn't an issue for me, but the lift to the third (attic) floor wasn't working, and it wouldn't have been fun to carry large, heavy suitcases up the narrow stairs. 「The accommodation was ok needs some maintenance on sealant round toilet unit and sink unit but no biggy. Comfortable and good value for money. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The cooked breakfast had elements that were dried out black pudding/haggis and tomatoes the potato scones had been deep fried and were very greasy. Other items were freshly cooked, pancakes. I would go back but go self catering」
