"Staff was super helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the kitchen was good. However I booked a non smoking area room and signed a paper for that but unfortunately it smelled like cigarettes in my room. The couch had the smell and it was very strong all around not pleasant. There were fights in front of my door at night sometimes and someone did knock on my door at 2 am and left randomly making me feel unsafe."

"They came in so clutch for us! We were staying at another local place when the power went out and left us with no electricity or running water. They let us check in early and welcomed us with a hot breakfast... We were so relieved! The kids loved the pool- charming little place. We'll be back!"

"My wife and I had a very nice 2 night stay at this hotel. When it comes to evaluating the rooms and conditions, I look to my wife for her opinion since she is much more critical than I am. Her comments were positive and she was satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the room and beds. Our room had a single king size bed so there was plenty of room to move about. The room price was reasonable and the breakfast each morning was good as well. The only comment I would have is that this is obviously an older building judging from the exterior color of the building and could probably use some new carpeting in the halls and rooms. Perhaps replacing the carpeting in the rooms with laminate or other similar flooring material would be a better choice. Otherwise our stay was good and we would book again. We chose this location because we wanted to visit Indiana Dunes National Park and it was very convenient to get to the park."

"Room had great design and flow. Breakfast was consistently delicious. Only hiccup was at check in when we were told they found our reservation but had no rooms available due to issues with not having enough housekeeping staff and we would be referred to a different hotel 10 miles away. This was resolved when the manager came 2 minutes later and opened up a recently cleaned room. Another plus was when the entire city of Portage lost power due to severe weather storms. We were under tornado warnings with minimal emergency lighting. Everyone was calm and we felt secure. Stairwells had emergency lighting while we couldn't use elevator. Room card keys still worked. No issues. Power restored around midnight 8 hours later and the staff had another delicious breakfast ready some 6 hours later including some of the best hotel coffee I've ever had. This was our 2nd stay. Will definitely stay again when we visit family nearby,"

"Older building and older furniture, but the beds were clean and comfortable and the staff was great. There was also a light breakfast (cereal, juice, some prepackaged buns), which was a pleasant surprise because it wasn't advertised. So we were very happy with how this turned out, especially for the price."

"I never thought office is closed every Sunday, when we arrived I tried to call the number posted on the door to know how could we check in but no answer. Its good that I saw the housekeepers and they have enveloped about my booking details; however the room was not ready yet, she asked me to wait about 45 min. Otherwise, our night of stay was good, reasonable price but needs some maintenance work in room 209 for the hair blower , toilet flush and window."
