Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort
8/10 Good
"We’ve stayed here before so we already knew two things before we got here: the resort is excellent and each unit has a separate owner that is responsible for furnishings and extras. The staff is wonderful and the restaurants and pools are fabulous. They have EV chargers but you need to bring your own four-prong 220V cord. The front desk will have them unlocked for you. When we stayed here last year, the furnishings were modern, comfortable and the unit owner contacted us in advance to answer any questions. This time it was radio silence and I didn’t get any questions answered that I sent via Expedia. In all fairness, last year was through Airbnb so it’s possible their owners are simply more responsive. The room this year was definitely clean; the resort staff is exceptional. The kitchen was very well provisioned. The furniture in F-105 would have been excellent a decade or two ago, but “distressed” is a nice way to put it. Much of it has been nicked and dinged. The faux leather couch is incredibly sticky in Puerto Penasco’s humidity, but it was comfortable. For some reason there was only one bar seat at a counter built for four. Just remember if you stay there that the resort is responsible for the cleanliness but the owner is responsible for furnishings and any extras like a coffee/tea tray that most of us are used to but not all owners think to provide. In other words, if you really want coffee your first morning, bring your own. Last year it was provided, this year not."
