"Room was far too hot-top floor and heating pumping out with no way to turn down. Small fan in room not up to job of cooling sufficiently. Bar /food not open. Disappointing for a Mercure hotel. Staff apologetic but unable to solve issue."

"Well placed for a visit to the Silverstone museum and karting. Room comfortable enough for an overnight stay with our son. Slightly weird arrangement for shower/toilet which are both separate and open into the main room. The cups/spoons in the room didn't appear to have been washed. The restaurant food was good, service was very slow, though staff were friendly. Breakfast was self serve, food good and staff friendly. Reception were friendly and helpful too."

"An okay base to explore the Cotswolds. The grounds are beautiful and we were lucky with warm weather however the room was very hot and as on ground floor with only a door we couldn’t leave this open at night. The “spa” is only if you book a treatment, there is no pool or anywhere to relax. There was a power cut on our second night meaning guests could not get food and only drink for an hour from bottled drinks. This was poorly communicated and guests were encouraged to go into Chipping Norton for dinner. This was disappointing given we had been out for the day and came back for dinner and wanted a drink without paying extra for taxis. Guests without cash could not purchase anything during the power cut. "

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Relaxing Stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford! We had an absolutely excellent experience at Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless and welcoming. Both of our rooms were spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable. The second room we booked for our guests was equally impressive, and they were very happy with the comfort and overall experience. The cleanliness in both rooms was impeccable—everything felt fresh, well maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. We truly appreciated the complimentary amenities, including parking, water, and fruits—small details that made a big difference and reflected genuine hospitality. The location is perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet very convenient for accessing Oxford city center, making it ideal for a relaxed stay. The staff were courteous, professional, and always ready to help, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. "Small small room, might not suit you if you are even mildly claustrophobic. And if you don't like AC running all night. Very good for solo travellers needing a basic room. Room was clean. Comfortable bed (I really appreciated that). Easy to check in. Hotel is newly refurbished & EasyJet colour-themed. So you get the pictured: a cheerful no-frills experience, but not quite as shabby and basic as a Ryanair flight. Ticks all the basic boxes but gives you nothing extra. So no tea-making facilities in room. No wardrobe. Small shower, no bath (but plenty of warm water and good pressure). 10m^2 of space includes bathroom, so little more than a bare minimum of space. No space to swing a cat... but I would stay again. For one night or two it is unbeatable in price and comfort. Plus location in the heart of Summertown is actually lovely. I'd recommend that over other budget hotels that are further away from town. Remarkably quiet and yet in a lively area with shops and amenities. Friendly staff. A bit concerned about the card-lock situation. As a solo female I prefer hotel rooms with safety latches, you never know! "
