Funny story, spotted hotel was for 18+ but hadn’t clocked it’s largely targeting ‘seniors.’ So my wife and I booked to celebrate our 15year anniversary, I’m 41, she’s 39 so considerably younger than almost everyone else there. That said, still really enjoyed it. Excellent entertainment (80’s band). Nice grounds, very nicely furnished and decorated hotel throughout. We opted for half board, there is an al a cart option but no vacancies so we tried the buffet diner which was average at best. Breakfast was nice tho!

The hotel is amazing with plenty of activities to do. Even though the photos show younger people and the majority are over 50s even the entertainment is targeted to this group. The breakfast and the food is amazing and the grounds is breathtaking.

The hotel was in a fantastic setting and our room was great. We didn’t have an evening meal there so I can’t comment on that but the breakfast was disappointing. The staff were rude, a large number of tables were left with dirty plates etc even though it wasn’t that busy. We had to ask for basic things like glasses and milk to go with the tea etc because there weren’t restocking them for guests to use. The evening entertainment was fun although go would advise to go with plenty of time as the seats fill up fast leaving many having to stand up at the back. There are Lots of activities to do around the site. Overall it was lovely but some of the staff need to be retrained about customer service.

Relaxing and welcoming stay. Deluxe room was very tastefully decorated with comfy bed and very quiet (south wing). Plenty to do and great for walking as it has 440 acres of varied grounds from formal gardens, woodlands with streams, croquet lawns. Amazing views from the guest lounge areas and a modern spa.

On arrival it was hard to work out where to check in. Not well signed. When we found it the desk was unattended initially. Staff were very rigid about the 3 pm check in policy (a lot of places I've been are not). The room was not airconditioned. There was no soap in or near the bathroom sink. It was necessary to register a precise time to attend breakfast on arrival, and the breakfast offerings were of mediocre quality. The car park was a very long walk from the room, and extremely crowded - hard to find a space. Not somewhere I would stay again.

As we didn’t book direct with the hotel our evening meal wasn’t included. That wasn’t a problem as you could dine in any of the restaurants for £30 per head. Traveller’s be aware though if you didn’t want to dine in there was no other food purchase options available after 4pm. They don’t offer room service either. The grounds are extensive and it’s not possible to walk to anywhere. Take snacks with you as there is a fridge available in the room.
