與車站距離還可，古典味住宿

本來選擇這住宿的原因就因為Banbury很近Oxford，火車班次都繁多的，但原來Banbury都有很多商店的~! 說回住宿方面，外表是一間古老大屋，很大很大的，裡面裝修陳設都是很古典的，房間也是，酒店下的花園很大很美，餐廳也很高雅，床子舒適的，職員友善的。最欣賞的是大堂有一份介紹這酒店大屋的歷史介紹，簡單的告訴我地這“鬼屋”的歷史，有趣有趣~! 可是，奇怪的是酒店提供的洗澡用品都是很難洗乾淨，怎麼洗也是滑滑的，洗不乾淨…

Loved the characterful building, the foyer seating was comfortable, free parking a bonus and location near the town centre excellent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. My room in the old part of the hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable, although I would have appreciated a box of tissues. Signage from the car park could be improved and the cooked breakfast was already tired by 8.15am. Freshly prepared please!

Our room was very comfortable unfortunately there was a large damp spot on the ceiling in the bathroom which needs addressing also had to ask for our room to be refreshed as there were no signs to leave out but once asked for was quickly rectified would happily stay at this property again as the overall stay was great

The overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom. Had to put a towel under the door to try and stop the room smelling. Did mention to management to be told he couldn't smell it.

Beautiful old building, with some areas in hotel looking lovely e.g. restaurant & bar. Some areas looking very dated & worn which can make some things feel grubby (even if it was clean). There was a strange store cupboard unlocked & constantly open which also made things seem messy. Breakfast ok. Hotel very central to Banbury so great location if wanting to be central. Lovely garden out back of hotel. This is a 3 star hotel & was cheap, so you get what you pay for.

Breakfast was fine. Asked for a quiet room. Couldn’t have been given one any noisier, right over door and car park entrance so couldn’t have window open and made the room very hot. Bedding was too heavy for time of year. At least a fan was supplied. Tv was good. Bathroom was very tired and grotty. Sports bar was closed and we had intended to eat/drink in there on arrival so ended up going elsewhere. I didn’t expect much from reviews as we know they were updating but would have hoped they would have tried to accommodate a request for a quieter room. We wouldn’t go again which is a shame as we were visiting family and could have been a repeat customer.

We had to be moved twice in order to get an acceptable room but to be fair to the man on reception he got there eventually. Potentially a fab hotel but it needs a bit of TLC attention to detail.

Some drunk passed out in the room next to me. The night clerk didn't have a key for the deadbolt lock so after a lot of loud discussion the cops had to come in and bust down the door at 3AM. Hotel owners and management are at fault for the desk clerk not having that key. I paid £140 to get only a few hours sleep, £60 more than the usual rate. I'm going to pursue a partial refund. None was offered the next morning. My prior stay last year was very good but I will never stay there again when the owners and management are so negligent. It's just a good thing that the delay in getting that door open didn't cause further harm to the occupant.

We were shown to our original room and given a double suite but had requested a twin. Once we were moved and went to our new twin room, this was by far very basic compared to what was expected from the booking information. The room was extremely outdated and shabby looking. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and all of the staff we met were polite and couldn’t do enough.

Was located in a recently renovated deluxe room in the more modern area of the hotel. Room clean and comfortable. Door handle to bathroom kept falling off though! ( just needed a grub screw tightening) and there was a lack of coat hangers in the wardrobe. Some public areas shabby, particularly stair and corridor carpets. Good buffet style breakfast. Nice central location for town, with large free carpark at rear.

We had a newly renovated room and bathroom. The rest of the property is undergoing renovations as well. The room was great and the grounds are beautiful. Not much in the town to see. It was a great 1 night stop over point

The property is located in Banbury which based on our stay is very loud with people shouting and screaming 'til early hours in the morning. On the second night, the hotel hosted, what I can only decribed as a rave; very peaceful. The room was excessively hot during the night, making it impossible to sleep (once Mc Scooter stopped playing). There was no fan in the room or air conditioning. On the final day the shower and taps only produced boilng hot water which resulted in our young children being unable to shower and teeth brushing took place using a bottle of mineral water. Needless to say, we wont return anytime soon.

The hotel even old was very tired the carpets looked like they could do with a clean or replaced. The main shower only dripped water and when using the hands free it was boiling water and I adequate thankfully I didn’t have to wash my hair. I expected more for the money I paid. Good breakfast and staff

The Whately is perfectly located in the centre of Banbury, nice staff, beautiful garden, complete breakfast in a spacious room. The beds are very very comfy. The building itself is wonderful, but the hotel needs a big refreshment: the carpets in the stairs are worn to the bone, covered with scotch tape, one of our curtains was torn apart, the handle was about to fall from the bedroom door, and the cold water was slow to go out from the tap. If you are looking for a place to stay in Banbury, the Whately is not perfect but is a good option in the town centre.
