The property is well situated in close proximity to the various beachfront bars and restaurants offering live music and other entertainment. It’s also in walking distance to the main negril roundabout and grocery stores. Beach in front has several sea berry trees offering shade. No issue getting beach loungers on the raked white sand beach. Security is strict and looks out for you and belongings. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and swept daily. Bar has red stripe on draft, Kingston Rum, soft drinks, frozen drinks, and a filtered water cooler in the dining room next to the self serve coffee and tea station. The food is tasty and there is enough variety to keep it interesting, though they could improve on the dessert offering. It would be great if they had an ice cream cooler with bars as an option. Rooms and bathroom are cleaned daily with fresh towels. Water pressure and temperature in my bathroom were great. Having a front porch with the ground level room is much more convenient for me than the rooms upstairs where you have to go through the room to get to the balcony. Wi-Fi was mostly reliable and available throughout the property. Drifters and Kenny’s are close by so the music at night can get loud.Bring earplugs. Get your own blanket and a pillow if you are picky. I usually pack a few suction hooks to hang dry swim stuff. Pack an outlet extender if you have a lot of stuff to plug in. Not enough plugs in the room. Bring toiletries and mosquito repellent. Love the staff.

Beautiful property, very tropical, well maintained, mostly friendly staff especially Charlie and Jovan in the dining room...gorgeous beach area. Food was mediocre , drinks not great ...We stayed in the executive suite oceanfront which was fabulous. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a week in August. Family of five. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are amazing! Professional, welcoming, kind and funny. The food is nice, mostly Caribbean with some international dishes as well. Would have been nice to have some snack options inbetween meals, sandwiches etc as a few times we missed the allocated times. The beach is stunning! White sand and clear blue seas.

Great property for solo travelers, or a couple. The staff is amazing, the food is great, it’s ideal for a long weekend or 2 weeks. The property doenst have entertainment if that’s what you’re looking, it’s a quiet beachfront property with amazing people.

A little Gem.

Merrils is a very nice family-owned resort. Nice little pool and a great beach. I would have loved some Appleton rum and rum cream in my coffee after Dinner, besides that awesome stay!

We recently stayed at merrils, and while there were many wonderful aspects of our trip, there were also some significant disappointments. First, the positives—this resort is located on one of the most stunning beaches we’ve ever seen. The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft, and the sunsets are breathtaking. The food was also very good, and the staff (outside of management) were friendly and welcoming, making an effort to ensure guests had a great experience. Unfortunately, our experience with management and our upgraded room left much to be desired. We paid for an upgrade, expecting a better experience, but instead, we had no WiFi and had to endure extremely loud noise until 2 AM the first night and 4 AM the second. We also requested multiple room fixes that were never addressed. Each time we inquired about speaking with the manager, we were given the runaround—told he would be there at 10 AM, then asked to return later, and we finally spoke with him at 12:30 PM. There was no real apology or effort to make things right. On our last night, we moved to a different room, which was a slight improvement, but outside noise was still an issue. If you are considering staying here, I’d highly recommend booking a room closer to the ocean and away from the street. Additionally, while the beach is beautiful, be prepared for a fair amount of solicitors. Overall, this resort has a lot of potential, but management needs to improve. If you choose the right room and go in with.
