"This was a charming experience. The architecture is awesome. Matching the furnishings to the mid-century vibe was really cool too. The room layout is funky, but in a good way. Clearly a lot of effort has gone into making this a nice modern hotel that looks like a nostalgic throwback. The covered parking was a neat perk.
The bedding was just OK. No breakfast, but there are plenty of places to get something nearby, including right across the street.
There can be a bit of road noise."
"Rooms are outdated. Pillows need replacing. Decor and furniture is old and worn - not comfortable. Lamp shade was falling apart. Didn’t like having the sink in the main room. TV was loosing the color contrast. Screen was almost washed out. Breakfast was disappointing."
"The first room we stayed in, the shower handle broke- transferred to another room that had a view of electrical equipment ( I reserved & paid for an ocean view!!) I repeatedly asked for a credit or different room, was told a manager would follow up with 0 response!
The grounds are not up kept. The maid staff was very pleasant & friendly.
The breakfast is not actually breakfast, it's cheap muffins & granola bars from 7-9am& 1 pot of coffee."
"Wonderful boutique hotel, a stone throw away from the ocean, with just a handful of well appointed rooms (former classrooms). The property shares a larger lot with a nicer campground part of the same organization. Quiet and peaceful overall. Note however that despite the beautiful decor and finish inside the main building, sound insulation is minimal in the bedrooms. Clean and modern bathrooms. Nice common space downstairs with couches, turntable and vinyls. However, no breakfast available. No vending machines either in the main building or around the campground. A limited selection of food, snacks and beverages is available either during opening hours (daytime) at the registration office (attached to the main building) or driving to Trinidad on the main highway (approximately 5 miles South where a limited number of very good restaurants (and Murphy's, a well appointed local grocery store) are located. Access to the ocean (beach and trails along the cliffs' edges) is through a very nice State Park (Sue Meg) a short drive North of the property ($8/day access). Beautiful vistas. However, no direct access to the ocean or any beaches directly in front of the property (private properties and cliffs). Within 10 to 25 miles to great State and National Parks immediately to the North on Hwy 101."
"A great no thrills motel. Seemed a little sketchy at first but great office staff were helpful and kind. The air conditioner worked great and they had lots of hot water!"
