Independent Muar hotels

"Overall this is a super hotel in a great location - next to the river and right in the older part of Melaka. The staff are excellent. There are a couple of minor 'howevers' from our 4 night stay: the bar wasn't open at all; and the restaurant was focused entirely on providing iftar buffet suppers. But, when, on 2 of the nights we stayed, we explained that we were staying in the hotel and wanted to eat in the restaurant (from the a la carte menu), the restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate us, even though this must have caused then significant inconvenience. We were happy, but it was unfortunate that the limitations with the restaurant and the bar were not communicated at the time of booking, so that we could either have decided to accept them or to book a different hotel."

"This hotel was the best hotel we stayed in during our 4 week holiday around Malaysia.The room was very spacious & super clean, the staff made us very welcomed.The breakfast buffet was also the best during our stay in Malaysia, not only was there plenty of choice, the presentation was fabulous and kept tidy & clean throughout the breakfast times.The hotel is in a reasonable position a 15 minute walk into Old Melaka town which you can do via the river walk or through little India town."

"The gentleman that greeted us and stored our luggage because we were early was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and extremely roomy for a twin and king bed. There is no restaurant onsite but very walkable to lots of nearby restaurants. Location very central to the weekend night markets."

"Room was clean and large, staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. It’s close enough to walk to the heritage areas and jonker walk in approx 10-15 mins and then escape back to peace and quiet away from bustle and traffic. When I had a wait between check out and my bus departure, staff generously offered me 2 extra hours use of my room for free without even asking for it. The pool is clean and peaceful, although there were no umbrellas or shade which would have been nice to sit back and read a book after a swim. "

Great & friendly staffs & glad to meet the founder, Mr Max. - Comfortable beddings, clean rooms. - Cosy location (in a small lane). - The greetings from all the ground staff at anytime of the day, despite he/she maybe occupied with jobs on hands, will stop to great you. I believe the management team have done a good job in the training. Thank You! Some area to improve, the Check In Counter. It was confusing for many guests, it was located near the Cafe but place is too small; with other guests are still in Q, it was not easy for staff to manage. - Next day, we were been informed the Counter shifted to the other area. That’s a good space & near the Concept Store which we had a great time shopping. - Room’s telephone not working. Had informed the Front Desk on the 1st night, it had not been fixed till the Check Out. Overall experiences was great. Thank You!"
