"The curtains are not blackout curtains and the light on the balcony doesn't turn off. The smoke alarm has a light that flashes every 23 seconds. The light in the closet didn't turn off (so there's a vertical stripe of light that seeps out). Overall, there was a lot of "visual noise" that made it difficult to sleep. The room was too hot and there was no way to lower the temperature. The pillows were those loose, lumpy ones that constantly need scrunching up. The minibar is not a minibar, it's a small fridge (this didn't bother us, but just thought it should be pointed out). The breakfast buffet isn't offered every morning. We checked in around 5pm and they weren't sure whether the buffet would be offered the next morning. We were told that the restaurant would still have "a la carte" items though. We stayed in 2 hotels and 3 guesthouses during our time in Croatia and we found all 3 guesthouses to be much more comfortable. "

"Great stay - the manager met me in the morning before official check in time to allow us to get on with our day. The room itself is large, well kept, and modern. Very comfortable for two. Location is fabulous - it's right outside a main bus stop with several connections to Old Town. We never waited for a bus on either side and the side was approx 5 mins. If I come back to Dubrovnik, I would love to stay here again."

"We stayed in Villa Kate for 4 nights in the top floor balcony room. The host was very welcoming and helpful, giving us a shortcut to the main road on our first night. From the main road, you can walk or take a bus to either side of Dubrovnik with ease, and the buses are very frequent. The room itself was very nice, with ample storage, a good view, great bathroom facilities and effective aircon. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it!"

"This is the greatest option for lodging in this area. The host family is extremely kind, accommodating, and warm. I selected the apartment with the washing machine and full kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning unit worked really well. Tons of stairs to get to the apartment, so this is not suitable for those who have any sort of physical ailment or the elderly. Would visit here every year. Very walkable to restaurants and the bus stop."
