"A really great traditional inn, great food, brilliant atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The bonus of a private car park in Bakewell is a pearl beyond price, as parking, especially on market days is at a premium. I would have given the max stars had the room, which was OK had not been a little small ( it was named BAKEWELL). There you go."

"Lovely hotel, fantastic location. Well decorated, comfy twin room but disappointingly, in the annex. Not in the main hotel. IMO, on the expensive side. £500 2 x nights, especially as it was 'room only'. Also, hardly any parking on site. Forced to park in public car park.My fault. Should have paid more attention when booking."

"Lovely welcome. Room was very clean. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Good choice at breakfast, it was all freshly cooked. We ate dinner both nights, food was excellent and reasonably priced. Beautiful view over The Dale's. Wednesday night was pie and quiz night. Which was entertaining. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Hotel is a nice building (set of buildings) in a gorgeous, quiet village (other than the hotel / bar). Our room was over the bar and whilst there was some noise, it wasn’t too loud. The bedrooms are good rather than stunning and have a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, nice biscuits and fresh milk (hooray). Our room had a shower but no bath. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and professional. We were happy with the stay, but left feeling it was a bit expensive for what it was."

"Overall we had a pleasant stay. We stayed for 1 night as we were visiting Chatsworth house the next day, and the location was convenient. The check-in process was smooth, staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was pretty standard, spacious, comfy bed. On site parking was decent The only things I can say negatively was the shower wasn't great, the toilet had a really weak flush. The floor was very creeky, and there was quite a bit of noise coming from the room above in the morning."
